Harbor supports pediatric, adult, and elder patients with chronic conditions, neurological disorders, respiratory needs, developmental disabilities, and overnight safety concerns through technology-enabled care. Our Remote Support program partners with families, caregivers, healthcare systems, and payors to provide compassionate, clinically informed support from home.
Position Overview
Harbor is seeking compassionate, highly reliable, and tech-savvy Care Team Staff to support our Remote Support Monitoring program. This role combines healthcare support, real-time virtual observation, documentation, escalation management, and caregiver communication in a fast-paced remote environment. Care Team Staff serve as an essential extension of the patient’s care network by helping monitor overnight safety, identify changes in condition, support family communication, and escalate concerns according to Harbor protocols. This role is ideal for individuals with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting patients with medical, behavioral, neurological, respiratory, or mobility-related needs.
Key Responsibilities
Remote Patient Monitoring & Observation
- Monitor live patient video feeds, physiological data, and remote monitoring platforms during assigned shifts
- Observe for changes in breathing patterns, seizure activity, oxygen saturation trends, movement, fall risk, equipment alarms, or behavioral concerns
- Track overnight trends and identify deviations from individualized care plans
- Escalate urgent concerns according to Harbor clinical escalation protocols
- Maintain situational awareness while monitoring multiple patients simultaneously when appropriate
Documentation & Shift Charting
- Complete accurate, real-time documentation throughout shifts within Harbor’s platform and EHR systems
- Record interventions, alerts, patient activity, symptom trends, caregiver interactions, and escalation actions
- Ensure timely handoff communication between shifts
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant and professional documentation standards
Caregiver & Family Communication
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with caregivers through secure messaging and communication tools
- Provide updates, reassurance, and escalation notifications when appropriate
- Support families navigating complex medical conditions and overnight care concerns
- Reinforce education and care plan guidance provided by Harbor clinicians
Clinical Support & Escalation
- Recognize signs of clinical deterioration or safety concerns
- Escalate concerns to supervising nurses, caregivers, emergency contacts, or emergency services according to protocol
- Support care coordination and continuity between Harbor staff and family care teams
- Participate in incident reporting and quality assurance reviews as needed
Technology & Operations
- Navigate multiple technology platforms simultaneously, including monitoring dashboards, secure messaging systems, EHRs, and video monitoring tools
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues and escalate platform concerns appropriately
- Maintain professionalism and productivity in a fully remote work environment
- Participate in onboarding, simulation training, continuing education, and workflow updates
Qualifications
Required
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Minimum 2 years of healthcare, patient support, medical monitoring, or caregiving experience
- Experience working overnight shifts, remote environments, or high-attention monitoring roles preferred
- Excellent multitasking and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail and ability to remain focused during extended monitoring periods
- Comfortable learning and using multiple digital healthcare platforms
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet remote workspace
- Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
Preferred
- Licensed or certified healthcare background:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Respiratory Therapist
- Healthcare support or allied health experience
- Experience with:
- Pediatric complex care
- Neurological disorders and seizure monitoring
- Respiratory monitoring and oxygen-dependent patients
- Home health or telehealth
- Sleep safety monitoring
- Behavioral health or developmental disabilities
- Experience working with U.S.-based healthcare organizations
Technical Requirements

- Ability to work within secure HIPAA-compliant systems
- Comfort working across multiple screens/platforms simultaneously
Schedule & Availability
- Flexible scheduling available
- Day, evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- Some roles may require overnight monitoring coverage aligned with U.S. time zones
